Malliga Och Receives Craig L. Brians Award

Malliga Och, Assistant Professor in the Global Studies and Languages Department, received the 2020 Craig L. Brians Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research & Mentorship from the Political Science Education Section of the American Political Science Association. The award is given to faculty members who demonstrate commitment to and excellence in encouraging and developing scholarship among undergraduate students, and in mentoring undergraduate students in preparation for graduate school or public-affairs related careers. The committee highly regards the student-centered work that Dr. Och does, as she clearly invests her time and efforts into the kind of activities that fulfill Dr. Brian's legacy. Under her mentorship, Dr. Och's student have been accepted into the Peace Corps, presented their own research at national and international conferences, served as AmeriCorps Fellows, and were accepted to law and graduate school.
