Idaho State University's Department of English and Philosophy continues to play a pivotal role in the Idaho Humanities Council, our nonprofit, state-based partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
This fall, Margaret Johnson, Professor of English, began her term as Chair of the IHC Board. Professor Johnson has been a member of the board since 2013. Matthew Levay, Associate Professor of English, began a term as Southeast Idaho's academic Board representative. Shelley McEuen-Howard, Professor of English at the College of Southern Idaho and a 2020 graduate of the Department's Ph.D. program English and the Teaching of English, also begins a term as Vice Chair of the IHC Board.
David Pettyjohn, Executive Director of the IHC, said “We are delighted to welcome Matthew to the IHC Board of Directors and are thankful for Shelley’s enthusiastic contributions to our work. We also look forward to Margaret’s tenure as Chair. Her election is a testament to her dedication and passion for the public humanities in Idaho.”
