ISU presents Human Trafficking Conference on July 17

POCATELLO – Idaho State University will present the Human Trafficking Conference on July 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Wood River Room.
The conference is aimed at bringing together community providers and members to discuss issues of human trafficking in our local communities.
The event will begin with providers sessions where organizations can network and discuss how they can work together to better serve survivors of human trafficking. Providers in attendance include Family Service Alliance, Bingham Crisis Center, Fort Hall Victim Services, Bannock County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Task Force and Idaho Anti-Trafficking Coalition
A public session will follow and is open to the community. This session is focused on providing information on what people need to know about human trafficking, why such crimes of human trafficking are happening, how people can protect themselves, how to identify a potentially trafficked victim, and how and where to report such potential crimes.
Each session will have a panel discussion in which attendees are encouraged to engage in questions or concerns on topics regarding human trafficking in the community. The conference will close with an opportunity for community members to network and browse informational booths of providers.
