University Strategic Plan Open Forum Set Dec. 10

December 5, 2019

During his fall address to campus in August, President Satterlee announced that Idaho State University would start the process to develop a new university-wide strategic plan. Our current strategic plan is slated to expire in 2022 and was narrow in scope, intending to guide the university through a presidential transition. The new strategic planning effort is intended to guide our university’s path forward for the next 10 years.

Following that announcement, a Strategic Planning Steering Committee was assembled, and the group has developed a draft strategic planning process to support this initiative. The goals for this committee were to develop a strategic planning process that is visionary, transparent, and inclusive.

In that spirit, the steering committee recently shared the draft process with Faculty Senate, Staff Council, ASISU, and Leadership Council to gather input and feedback.

As a final step toward gathering this input and feedback, the steering committee would like to invite all faculty, staff, and students to attend an open forum presentation scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, in the Little Wood Room of the Pond Student Union. The forum will also be broadcast to Idaho Falls (CHE 314), Meridian (686), and Twin Falls (131).

During this presentation, the Strategic Planning Steering Committee will provide an overview of the draft process, answer questions, and gather feedback from those in attendance. After feedback is gathered and incorporated, the strategic planning process will be finalized and a timeline developed.

If you are unable to attend this session in person, your input is still valued. Please view the draft process presentation online and provide any input and feedback via email to strategicplan@isu.edu.

Moving forward, you can expect campus-wide communication related to all phases of the strategic planning process. Information about the process, as well as tools and communication about all subsequent phases, can be viewed by visiting the strategic plan website.
