ISU Health Science Experience Night and Pharmacy Open House set for Oct. 15 in Meridian
October 3, 2019
MERIDIAN—Learn about dozens of Idaho State University health professions programs, tour the Meridian campus, and get a flu shot at Health Science Experience Night and Pharmacy Open House, Tuesday, Oct. 15, 5-7:30 p.m.
Both events are inside the Sam and Aline Skaggs Health Science Center at ISU- Meridian, 1311 E. Central Drive, and admission is free.
“Health Science Experience Night is a wonderful opportunity for Treasure Valley students to see the many health professions that ISU has to offer. They experience firsthand what professionals do in the field each day,” said ISU-Meridian Enrollment Services Director Ali Crane.
Attendees can visit with ISU faculty and students from Meridian and Pocatello, participate in medical demonstrations, and tour the newly expanded Skaggs Treasure Valley Anatomy and Physiology Laboratories, equipped with 3D and virtual technology.
All students are eligible for door prizes, ISU gear and promotional items. Students are asked to RSVP at www.isu.edu/hsen.
At the Pharmacy Open House, flu shots will be provided by Albertsons Pharmacy. The first 10 flu shots are free for participants who have no insurance. If you have health insurance, bring your insurance card. Without insurance, the cash price for the flu shot is $32.00.
Providers will vaccinate patients 6 years and older, but patients under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, say organizers. The College of Pharmacy will provide activities and education related to heart health, diabetes, immunizations, medication safety and drug abuse prevention.
This is the 14th year Idaho State has hosted Health Science Experience Night in the Treasure Valley for high school and college/university transfer students interested in careers in the health professions.
