October 11, 2019
POCATELLO – The Idaho State University Diversity Resource Center's Open House Celebration is set on Oct. 16.
The open house welcomes students, faculty, staff and the community to stop by the ISU Diversity Resource Center all day between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., with a welcoming reception from noon to 1 p.m. where light refreshments will be served.
The open house is purposed to inform students, faculty, staff and the community of the center’s history, goals and services, said Alma Jam, program manager for the center.
The reception's program includes a welcoming address from the Dean of Students Kris Clarkson followed by a brief address of the center's history and evolving mission by Dr. James Yizar, who established the center 17 years ago.
"We've undergone some upgrades to the center and revision to programming such as our Brown Bag presentations, Spectrum workshops and 'Keep it Real' diversity game workshops for students, faculty and staff through the center and feel excited and ready to engage everyone to participate in using the center space, its resources and everything else we have to offer," Jam said.
