June ISU Career Path Intern of the Month is Kam Thomas

POCATELLO – Kam Thomas, who has spent the past semester working as an accounting intern for Phillips, Oakes, Goodwin, and Crane in Burley, has been named the Idaho State University June ISU Career Path Intern of the month.
During the 2018 tax season, Thomas prepared more than 400 tax returns for individuals and partnerships interning at this certified public accounting firm.
“Kam has come to work with us during our most critical time of the year and has done an outstanding job. She has been willing to take on complicated tasks and has really helped us this year,” stated Lydon Crane, Phillips, Oakes, Goodwin, and Crane partner and Thomas’ mentor.
Thomas enjoyed her time interning in Burley, explaining that she learned much about accounting as well as what a professional life can be.
“Everyone thinks accountants are boring, but I can tell you that we had fun in our office,” Thomas said. “We had a lot of work to complete, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying time spent in the office.”
Thomas, a native of Ohio, will graduate in August 2018 with a Master of Accountancy degree. After graduation she will begin working full-time for Moss Adams in Medford, Oregon.
In her spare time, Thomas coaches girls’ volleyball and softball. She also enjoying kayaking, snowboarding and any pastime that allows her to enjoy the great outdoors.
