March 9, 2017
Pocatello – The Pocatello Small Business Development Center, Edward Jones, Idaho Central Credit Union and Home Helpers present: “Spring…Outside the box!” the 2017 Women’s Business Symposium, Thursday April 6 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Shoshone Bannock Hotel and Event Center.
Women’s contributions to the local economy are significant, and this symposium offers low-cost networking and career development for all working women. “Our goal is to provide inspiration, education and networking for local business women. We want to see more successful businesswomen in our community,” said SBDC director Ann Swanson.
The 2017 Symposium has two tracks with a special focus this year on cybersecurity. The career track has sessions on career advancement and helping your co-workers succeed. The entrepreneurship track will focus on running a small business with information on email marketing and creating insight using the Business Model Canvas.
The key note address will be from Jill T. Slomski, a nationally acclaimed speaker on personal branding and confidence. By following her eight basic steps of personal branding, listeners will begin down the path of self-discovery, which includes enhancing strengths, communicating personal value, attracting more clients, and reaping the benefits of effective networking. Confidence and purpose soars after participating in this presentation!
In addition to great speakers, there are vendors, giveaways, lunch and plenty of time dedicated specifically to networking. And of course there will be chocolate.
The Symposium is Thursday, April 6, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Shoshone Bannock Hotel in Fort Hall. Tickets are $30 for admission and lunch; $240 for a table sponsorship. For registration, sponsorship and program information call Claudia Allen at 282-2817 or visit www.isu.edu/cob/wbs.
