ISU Graduate Research Symposium set March 31-April 1 at Pond Student Union

POCATELLO – The 2017 Idaho State University Graduate Research Symposium “Showcasing Scholarly and Creative Works” will be held March 31 and April 1 at the Pond Student Union.
A poster and creative works session will run from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 31, in the Pond Student Union Ballroom. On Saturday, April 1, oral presentations will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Salmon River Suites on the third floor of the Pond Student Union.
Charles Martinez, from the University of Oregon, is the symposium keynote speaker and will deliver the address “Sociocultural Influences on Health and Education Disparities: Innovations and Lessons Learned” at 12:50 p.m. April 1 at the Pond Student Union Ballroom during the event’s luncheon. Martinez is the department head and professor in the University of Oregon College of Education Department of Methodology, Policy, and Leadership.
The symposium features branding and CV-writing workshops and an awards ceremony, the latter occurring at 4:30 p.m. April 1.
Poster sessions are on a wide variety of topics from “Plant Ecology and the Environment” and “Habitats of Wildlife and Insects,” to “Health and Innovations” and “New Paradigms in Science and Engineering.”
Eight oral presentations are planned on April 1 that cover a variety of subjects, from “Building Success across Diverse Context” to “Business Strategies and Globalization.”
