POCATELLO – Idaho State University’s annual Family Weekend will take place on the weekend of Oct. 21-22. Online registration for the event will be live Sept. 16 through Oct. 19.
Family Weekend provides ISU students and their families access to a host of campus activities at a reduced cost.
“This weekend is a great way for students to make their family part of the ISU family,” said Brooke Barber, LEAD center director.
Check-in for the weekend is Friday, Oct. 21, and Saturday, Oct. 22, from 5-10 p.m. at the Campus Connection Desk located in the Pond Student Union.
Tickets and materials for Family Weekend will be provided to all participants during check-in.
Family Weekend will begin with a celebration dinner and program at 6 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Student Union. Prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children 11 and under. Advance tickets are available with registration.
Activities for the weekend include ISU sporting events, a football tailgate and pumpkin decorating contest, bowling and billiards at the Pond Student Union, theatrical productions at the Stevens Performing Arts Center, and more.
“The football tailgate and celebration dinner have always been highlights of the weekend,” Barber said.
“We have also added a pumpkin carving contest to the tailgate party this year,” Barber said. “It’ll be a great way to enjoy some beautiful autumn weather while celebrating our ISU spirit.”
The event is not limited to immediate family, Barber added.
“If a student’s parents or siblings are unable to attend, we encourage students to invite anyone else important to them,” Barber said. “Whether it’s your best friend, significant other or an aunt or uncle, everyone is welcome.”
