Idaho Conference on Health Care and Thomas Geriatric Symposium set Sept. 30 in Pocatello and Meridian

The 29th Annual Idaho Conference on Health Care and the 9th Annual Thomas Geriatric Health Symposium will be held Friday, Sept. 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Idaho State University in two locations; Pocatello and at the ISU-Meridian Health Science Center.
The Pocatello location will be at the Pond Student Union Ballroom. The location of the conference in Meridian will be in the classrooms at the Meridian Health Science Center.
The ISU Division of Health Sciences is sponsoring this year’s event and the theme is "Sleep and Staying Healthy.”
The Thomas Geriatric Symposium is held annually for students, healthcare professionals and other members of the community. This event is free and open to public.
The keynote address will be given by Dr. Krishna Sundar, currently he is the Medical Director of the Sleep-Wake Center, University of Utah. He is an American Board-Certified physician in Sleep Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care Medicine and Internal Medicine. Dr. Sundar has extensive experience with all aspects of pulmonary and sleep medicine. One of his main goals as a sleep center physician, is to help patients and providers in realizing the full potential of sleep in maintaining health and improving outcomes from chronic illnesses.
Other presentations at the conference include “Drug Induced Insomnia/Taking Medicine To Help With Sleep,” which will be delivered by Andrea Wintersywk. Steve Stuebner, an avid outdoor enthusiast, will also present on the topic of “Access To Outdoors” in the afternoon. He is an Idaho author who has written more than 10 books on various outdoor topics, including guidebooks on hiking, biking and paddling in Idaho. Steve pens a weekly blog called "Stueby's Outdoor Journal" and talks about outdoor tips every Friday morning on 94.9 FM The River in Boise.
