Idaho State University Alumni Association Board of Directors selects new members

The Idaho State University Alumni Association Board of Directors has elected six new members, who will begin serving on the board in October 2015.
New directors are Gary Aldous, American Falls; Ruby Walsh, Pocatello; Donnel McNeal, Meridian; Deb Poulson, Pocatello; Mandi Everett, Pocatello and Patty Bolinger, American Falls. Also joining the board in January 2015 were Kasi Beorchia, Pocatello and Kathryn Layman, Portland, Oregon, replacing board members who vacated their positions due to job changes. Col. F. Paul Briggs, Alexandria, Virginia was chosen to serve as president-elect.
Board members completing their four-year terms of service in October 2015 are Jim Francfort, Pocatello; Josh Gehrke, Meridian; Steve Kenyon, Boise; Blaine Nisson, Green Valley, Arizona; and Larry Satterwhite, Boise. Satterwhite is also completing his second year as president of the Board.
Gary Aldous is a retired educator who taught and coached in the American Falls School District and currently works part time for Power County. Aldous has two degrees from ISU, his bachelor’s degree in math and education and his Master of Physical Education in Athletic Administration.
Ruby Walsh is the clinic manager for Portneuf Medical Center Primary Care Clinic. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in health care administration from ISU in 2009.
Donnel McNeal is principal of Central Academy High School in Meridian. McNeal has two degrees from ISU, his bachelor’s degree in 2002 in human exceptionality and a master’s degree in school counseling in 2004.
Mandi Everett is currently the administrative services manager for Bannock County in Pocatello. Everitt obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in management from ISU in 1995.
Deb Poulson has been a teacher at Franklin Middle School in Pocatello for 13 years, teaching computer-related classes and is actively involved at ISU in the track program. Poulson obtained her bachelor’s degree in secondary education and business education with a minor in computer information systems.
Patty Bolinger is a counselor at American Falls High School. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1972 and MED-Counseling in 1974.
Kasi Beorchia obtained her bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences in 2008 and her master’s degree in counseling in 2014. She is employed as a counselor for the Shoshone Bannock School District in Fort Hall.
Kathryn Layman recently retired after a distinguished career in both the computer software and utilities industries. She obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing in 1985 and currently lives in Portland, Oregon.
President-Elect Col. F. Paul Briggs received his bachelor’s degree in political science in 1972. He was recognized in 2013 as the Professional Achievement Award recipient for the College of Arts and Letters at ISU. He is retired from the U.S. Marines. Briggs was elected to the Alumni Board of Directors in 2014.
The purpose of the ISU Alumni Association Board of Directors is to support the goals of the University and to represent the voice of alumni in the strategic planning process of the University and focuses upon enhancing communication between University leaders and alumni, student support, alumni outreach programs and legislative advocacy.
