Idaho State University adds new mobile safety app to campus safety measures
April 7, 2015
In an ongoing effort to maintain a safe and secure campus environment Idaho State University has added a new mobile safety app for the campus community. The free mobile app is available on all four of the University’s campuses: Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Twin Falls and Meridian.
“We’re encouraging all students, as well as our faculty and staff, to download this new mobile safety app,” said ISU President Arthur Vailas. “This app offers students another way to stay connected and stay safe.”
he free app allows users to set a safety timer to notify designated guardians if they are alone or in an unfamiliar location. In addition, the emergency call button can send a notification to Campus Security with one click, providing the user’s information and GPS location. Users can also send texts or photo content directly to University officials if they witness something suspicious on campus.
ISU joins more than 1,000 campuses nationwide that use the mobile safety app, powered by Rave Guardian. The ISU app is available for both iOS and Android devices. Users can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
