Golden West Winds from Travis Air Force Base Will Perform at ISU Oct. 28

POCATELLO — The Golden West Winds, part of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, from Travis Air Force Base, California, will perform for Idaho State University in Goranson Hall in the ISU Fine Arts Building on Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is free.
The Golden West Winds are comprised of a flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon. This ensemble supports a wide variety of musical events ranging from military ceremonies and patriotic shows to educational programs and recitals of works for woodwind quintet.
To support these events the Golden West Winds plays music of all styles including marches and classical music.
The members of the Golden West Winds are all professional Air Force musicians working in support of Air Force and Air Mobility Command official military recruiting and community relations objectives.
In addition to performing for civilian communities throughout the states of California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona and Utah, the band supports 13 Air Force Bases, eight Air Force Reserve Wings and six recruiting squadrons in more than 250 annual performances for 1.5 million listeners.
The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West is dedicated to engaging communities and building partnerships, telling the Air Force story, honoring military heritage, enhancing morale for uniformed service members and recruiting the finest Americans to serve in the United States Air Force.
