Idaho State Civic Symphony to hold Halloween Spooktacular Family Matinee on Oct. 25

The Idaho State Civic Symphony’s annual Spooktacular Family Matinee will be held Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall at the Stephens Performing Arts Center.
At 1 p.m. families can visit a musical “petting zoo” in the Rotunda, where they can see orchestral instruments and how they produce sound. Children can also try some of the instruments. There will also be singing games and other musical education activities.
Local childrens’ author Brenda Stanley, will also be narrating her story “The Incredible Flutist,” which she wrote for the event.
The orchestra will perform Henry Mancini’s “The Pink Panther,” excerpts from “Scheherazade” by Rimsky-Korsakov and music from the movie “Frozen” by Anderson-Lopez.
Families are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes. Tickets are $8 per person or $27 for a family of four. Tickets are available for purchase at the ISU Box Office and 282-3595.
