Fundraiser set Sept. 26 to purchase hand-made books by artist Mary Laird for ISU Oboler Library

A fundraiser to purchase two hand-made books by renowned book artist Mary Risala Laird for the Idaho State University Eli Oboler Library will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 26.
The fundraiser featuring presentations and speakers will be held at 315 S. Lincoln Ave. in Pocatello.
It will be hosted by the Oboler Library Special Collections Department, Friends of Oboler Library and the newly-formed Pinyon Jay Press.
Laird is founder of Quelquefois Press and teacher at the San Francisco Center for the Book. She has produced many award-winning books, sought by collectors and libraries all over the world.
After purchase, the books will be on display in Oboler Library, along with names of donors whose generosity made this purchase possible.
Light refreshments will be served. All contributors – of any amount – will be automatically entered in a drawing. Prizes include letterpress broadsides, letterpress keepsakes, hand-cut quills, and personalized lessons in cutting and writing with quills.
