ISU Davis Gallery to feature two openings, ‘habitat : Home’ and ‘SUSPENSION’ Feb. 11; exhibits run through Feb. 22

The Idaho State University Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition "habitat : Home" by Catherine Reinhardt, will be held at the John B. Davis Gallery in the Fine Arts Building Feb. 12-22.

There will be an exhibit opening reception 5–7 p.m. Feb. 11. This event is free and open to the public.

'habitat : Home' posterOriginally from Daphne, Ala., Reinhardt now resides in Pocatello. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in painting from Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama in 1997.  Reinhardt earned her Master of Teaching Degree from the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, Va., in 2000, and this spring she is completing her Master of Fine Arts Degree in the Department of Art at Idaho State University.

 Reinhardt's current work references "habitat : Home" in various paintings, drawings and prints.

'SUSPENSION' posterIn conjunction with the “habitat : Home” opening, there will be a mixed media exhibition in Room 408 of the Fine Arts Building. The opening of "SUSPENSION" by Amy Jo Popa will also 5–7 p.m. on Feb. 11. "Suspension" is a collection of tissue-paper constructions of various shapes and drawn components created with masking tape.

The John B. Davis Gallery hours are Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  The gallery is located in the ISU Fine Arts Building on the Pocatello campus. For more information, contact Amy Jo Popa, gallery director, at 208-282-3341.
