Idaho State University senior art exhibition ‘terrae incognitae’ at Transition Gallery in March

The Idaho State University Pond Student Union Transition Gallery will hold an opening reception for Alexa Brooke Goff's Senior Exhibition, "terrae incognitae," on Monday, March 11, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The exhibition will be on display through March.

 Goff is a senior at ISU and is scheduled to graduate in May with an Honors Bachelor of Art Degree in art.  Her academic focuses at ISU have included English literature, art history and aesthetics. This semester, the ISU College of Arts and Letters honored her with the Outstanding Student Achievement Award in Fine Arts and Humanities. She has also recently completed her undergraduate honors thesis, a capstone academic project for the University Honors Program. 

In conjunction with her thesis work, she is exhibiting "terrae incognitae," which features recent works, composed in a variety of media including printmaking, etching, encaustic, letterpress, book arts and installation. "Terrae incognitae," or "unknown lands," is a term that comes from medieval cartography. Thematically, the body of work reflects this term through different maps, both physical and imagined, exploring the idea of transition, journey and movement of an individual.
