Idaho State University Anderson Center to host ’31 Songs’ project workshop by The Billies on March 6
February 25, 2013
The Idaho State University Janet C. Anderson Gender Resource Center will welcome the innovative musicians The Billies on ISU campus to present the "31 Songs Project" workshop at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, at the Rendezvous Complex Suites.
The project, which is free and open to the public, is an effort by The Billies to create 31 different unique pieces of music on 31 different campuses in 31 days.
The songs will be written, performed and recorded by students, faculty, staff and people who wish to be involved in the celebration of women in this country.
The workshop will combine lectures to deliver insightful messages about diversity, sustainability, leadership and community service to students, faculty and members of the surrounding community.
The Billies is the collaboration between Chrisie Santoni, who graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a master of fine arts degree, and Craig Smith, who graduated with his bachelor’s degree in political science and English from Fairfield University.
"We are extremely excited to have The Billies at Idaho State University because music is such a powerful tool to increase social conscious," said Abram Sherrod, AmeriCorps member at the Anderson Gender Center.
