Idaho State University to host World GIS Day

Idaho State University will host World GIS Day on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside the Rendezvous Complex in rooms A, B and C.
The public is invited to attend this free event to learn about satellite imaging, GPS and the exciting field of geographic information system (GIS) science. This event is hosted by the Geospatial Club and will feature educational and interactive booths, presentations throughout the day, refreshments, and raffle prizes.
At noon, the 9th Annual Chili Cook-off sponsored by Northern Rockies chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (NR URISA) will take place, followed by an East Idaho Regional GIS Resource Center (EIRRC) meeting and continued hands-on learning stations.
GIS Day provides an international forum for users of GIS technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society. The first formal GIS Day took place in 1999.
