Idaho State University Outdoor Adventure Center to offer river rescue, climbing, kayaking workshops beginning June 1

The Idaho State University Outdoor Adventure Center will offer summer orienteering, river rescue, rock climbing and kayaking workshops beginning June 1.
Workshops offered include:
• River Rescue, June 1, 6 to 10 p.m. and June 2-3 in the field at the Aberdeen Canal. Cost is $120 for ISU students, $144 for ISU faculty/staff and $168 for community members.
• Beginning Rock Climbing, June 5, 6 to 10 p.m. and June 9-10 in the field at the City of Rocks. Cost is $130 for ISU students, $156 for ISU faculty/staff and $182 for community members.
• Beginning Kayaking, June 6-10. Class meets at 8 a.m.-5 p.m. June 6, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. June 7-8, and has a June 9-10 overnight float on the Blackfoot River. Cost is $185 for ISU students, $222 for ISU faculty/staff and $259 for community members. There is a $30 discount for participants who have their own kayaking equipment.
• Intermediate/Advanced Kayaking, July 11-15. Participants will meet at 6 a.m. July 11 and then travel to the Payette River system. Cost is $225 for ISU students, $270 for ISU faculty/staff and $315 for community members. There is a $30 discount for participants who have their own kayaking equipment.
A deposit equal to 50 percent of the workshop fee must accompany applications to reserve a place in a workshop. One-half of the deposit will be refunded if a cancellation is received two weeks before the workshop begins. After two weeks, the deposit will be forfeited.
All workshops have limited enrollments; ISU students have first priority and other participants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The workshops are available for ISU academic credit. Registration for classes for credit should be done with the ISU Registrar. A deposit is not required for participants who are signed up through the registrar.
