Auditions for “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ to be held May 5 and 7 in Idaho State University Bistline Theatre

Auditions for a June/July production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at Idaho State University will take place Saturday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m., and Monday, May 7, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Auditions will be held in the ISU Beverly B. Bistline Theatre of the Stephens Performing Arts Center.
Those planning to audition should prepare two contrasting songs to perform. The production also includes roles for children between third and eighth grades. Children should come prepared to perform a verse and chorus from a song. Both children and adults should also wear or bring appropriate clothing and shoes to dance in.
The show is being put on by Idaho Summer Repertory. Performance dates are June 22, 23, 25, 29, 30 and July 2. All shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Bistline Theatre.
The musical, which was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber (with lyrics by Tim Rice), is based on the Bible story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. Since its 1973 opening in London, the show has been reproduced by educational and amateur theatre groups more than 20,000 times.
