Idaho State University’s John Batacan Selected IAHPERD Outstanding Collegiate Educator of the Year

Idaho State University health education Assistant Professor John Batacan has been selected 2012 Outstanding Collegiate Educator of the Year by the Idaho Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
The award will be presented to Batacan at an awards luncheon on Oct. 4 at the annual IAHPERD Conference in Boise.
As Idaho's award winner, Batacan’s application will be submitted to the Northwest District AHPERD level where he will be considered for a district award.
Batacan's teaching areas include fitness/wellness programs, human sexuality, environmental health and elementary health education methods. His research interests include college student health behavior and alcohol, tobacco and other drug use and abuse prevention.
