The Idaho State University College of Technology's Cosmetology program will celebrate its 75th anniversary on Friday, Sept. 21.  The celebration will include an open house and tour of their facilities and a special program to recognize their more than 2,000 alumni.

The open house and tours will be from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the cosmetology classroom and salon, and the special recognition program will start at 3:00 pm in the Culinary Arts Dining Room of the Roy F. Christensen Building.  The public is invited to attend this event and help recognize one of ISU's oldest programs.  Refreshments will be served following the recognition program at 3:00 pm.

During the recognition program, selected alumni will share stories about their time at ISU and the professional successes they’ve achieved using their education.  A visual history of the program will also be on display during the all day event.  A longtime friend and supporter of the cosmetology program will also make a special monetary donation during the event.

The Idaho State University Cosmetology program was formally approved by the Idaho State Department of Law Enforcement on September 25, 1937.  The program started in a house of Fifth Street before eventually taking up a permanent residence in the Roy F. Christensen Building.  Thousands of clients visit the program every year to receive actual services from students preparing to graduate.
