‘Convenience from the Faraway Nearby II’ exhibit opens Sept. 10 at Davis Gallery

Idaho State University visiting art Assistant Professor Andrea Jensen will display her work in the "Convenience from the Faraway Nearby II" exhibit Sept. 10-21 in the John B. Davis Art Gallery.

An opening reception will be held Monday, Sept. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. Regular exhibit hours are Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Gallery events are free and open to the public.

Exhibit posterJensen was born in Geneva, Ill. to a large Midwest farming family. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa in 2002. Jensen worked as an elementary art teacher and rock-climbing instructor in Boulder, Colo., before pursuing her Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Arizona.

As a graduate assistant for the University of Arizona, she taught painting, drawing, color and design and mixed media. Jensen has continued dedicating time to her studio practice, exhibiting and teaching most recently in Salt Lake City where she resides with her husband and daughter.
