Kregg Aytes Named College of Business Interim Dean
May 20, 2011
Idaho State University has appointed Kregg Aytes interim dean of the College of Business.
“Professor Aytes is the ideal person to serve in an interim capacity until we can conduct a national search for a permanent dean,” said ISU Provost Gary Olson. “He will bring energy and new ideas to college as we enter the new academic year.”
Prior to his appointment, Aytes served as chair of the Department of Computer Information Systems and associate dean of the College. He has been a member of the Idaho State University faculty since 1993. In 1996-1997, Aytes was named College of Business Teacher of the Year. In 1999-2000, he was given the College of Business Service Award. In 2006, Aytes was named an Idaho State University Master Teacher.
Before coming to Idaho State University, Aytes was a systems engineer at IBM Corp.
Aytes earned his doctorate in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona.
He will replace current dean, Ken Smith, who will continue at Idaho State University as a faculty member. A national search will be conducted in the fall for a permanent dean.
