Dr. Patrisia Gonzales to speak on Hispanic traditional medicine at ISU-Meridian April 27

"Exploring Hispanic Traditional Medicine" is the topic of a free lecture Wednesday, April 27, 6:30 -8:30 p.m., Room 697 at the Idaho State University-Meridian Health Science Center, 1311 E. Central Drive. 

The lecture will be broadcast to the Pocatello campus, Room B06 in the Eli Obler Library.

Guest speaker is nationally acclaimed author and community health researcher Patrisia Gonzales, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Mexican and Raza Studies at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Gonzales has written and lectured extensively on the healing art of traditional folk or indigenous medicine in Hispanic and Native American communities.

"This event offers a unique privilege for the ISU, Treasure Valley and Pocatello communities to enrich their relationship with the Hispanic culture.  Dr. Gonzales will provide an engaging lecture directed toward enhancing knowledge of how traditional Hispanic medicine is used in healing," said Jared Papa, physician assistant studies clinical instructor.
