ISU Wind Ensemble and Concert Band to perform concert April 23

The Idaho State University Wind Ensemble and Concert Band will perform their final concert of the semester Friday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Jensen Grand Concert Hall in the ISU Stephens Performing arts Center.
The Wind Ensemble is directed by Dr. Patrick Brooks, ISU Director of Bands. The Concert Band is directed by Kevin York, Associate Director of Bands.
The Concert Band will be performing "Prairie Dances" by David Holsinger, the beautiful folk ballad "Ashokan Farewell" by Jay Ungar, Gustav Holst’s classic "Suite in Eb for Military Band" and "Hosts of Freedom" march by Karl L. King.
The Wind Ensemble will perform "Chester" by American composer William Schuman, "Procession of the Nobles" by Nicholas Rimsky-Korsakov, "Lux Arumque (Light and Gold)" by Eric Whitacre, and the theatrical "Cave of the Winds" by Russell Peck. Featured soloist with the wind ensemble will be tubist McKenna Nilsson, a senior in music performance at Idaho State. Hailing from Blackfoot, Nilsson will perform "Suite for Tuba" by Donald Haddad.
Admission information: ISU Students Free, Pre-college Students $2, ISU Faculty and Staff $3, General admission is $5. Children under 6 will not be admitted.
