The Idaho State University Eli M. Oboler Library will hold its biennial Book Sale on Friday and Saturday, April 16-17.

The Library has been collecting books for two years to include in this two-day-only sale.

The event will take place in the student lounge at the Library, located at 850 S. Ninth in Pocatello, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 16, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

All profits from the book sale will be dedicated to building the Library’s collections, thereby benefiting both ISU and other Library users throughout Idaho.

This year’s sale offers, as usual, thousands of books of all types, on a wide variety of academic and popular topics, as well as works of popular and literary fiction. Among the noteworthy collections are: various history titles, classic science fiction, and mathematics/computer science materials.

Most of the book sale items originate with books donated to the library by faculty and other members of the community.  The Library evaluates all donated books and identifies those that should be added to its collections. Those that are not destined to become part of the collections are set aside to be sold. The Library annually adds between 1,000 and 2,000 volumes to its collections from donated materials.

Parking at the library is very limited on weekdays and cars without parking permits are ticketed in ISU parking lots between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Free parking is available in the Holt Arena’s northeast parking lot with shuttle bus service to the library. Parking lots are not monitored on Saturday.
