Idaho State University Summer Band Concert set June 30 at Stephens Center

The Idaho State University Summer Band will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, in the Joseph C. and Cheryl H.Jensen Grand Concert Hall in the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.
The Summer Band is directed by Patrick Brooks, ISU director of bands. Guest soloist with this year’s Summer Band is Kimberly Fullerton on clarinet, and Angela Clayton will guest conduct.
According to Brooks, the Summer Band was formed seven years ago to give ISU student musicians, area high school students and community instrumentalists an ensemble in which to sharpen their skills and enjoy making music. This summer’s ensemble numbers about 37 and is comprised of an even mixture of students and community members.
The band will be performing a wide selection of music, with something for everyone to enjoy. Music to be preformed at the concert will include "Toccata" by Frescobaldi, "Italian Polka" by Rachmaninoff, and the "Symphonic Dances" from “Fiddler on the Roof.”
Admission is free and open to the public.
