Senior Exhibition on display at Davis Gallery starting Feb. 23

The Idaho State Univeristy Spring 2009 Bachelor of Arts Senior Exhibition will feature four artists Amberlee Holman, Nancy Cox, Seth Clark, and Sterling Mennear at the John B. Davis Gallery in the Fine Arts Building on the Idaho State University campus.

The opening reception will be held Monday, Feb. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. and the exhibition dates are Feb. 24 – March 6.

The John B. Davis Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday – Friday.

The artists are:

• Amberlee Holman was born in Lincoln, Neb., but grew up in Bowling Green, Ky.  She moved to Pocatello her senior year of high school and graduated from Pocatello High. Holman is receiving a B.A. from the Department of Art & Pre-Architecture and a Secondary Education Teaching certificate so she can teach Art at a High School level.  She will be doing her student teaching this in the fall, and plans to graduate in December.

• Nancy Cox was born in Glendale, Calif. Cox graduated from Adolfo Camarillo High School in California and then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. In the fall of 2007 she returned to Idaho State University. She is planning to graduate with her Secondary Education Teaching certificate and a B.A. from the Department of Art and Pre-Architecture in August.

• Seth Clark is from Oakley where he graduated from Oakley High School. Clark is planning to receive his BA from the Department of Art and Pre-Architecture this spring. His future plans are to attend school in the fall to obtain a degree in Architecture.

• Sterling Mennear was born and raised in Pocatello. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 2001. During 2002 – 2004 he was on a Spanish-speaking mission in North Carolina. Attending Idaho State University after his return, he now intends to achieve a BA from the Department of Art and Pre-Architecture, with a minor in Art History, while also completing the Pre-Architecture program. Mennear completed an Internship at Myers & Anderson during the summer of 2008. Mennear enjoys working with the mediums of acrylic paint, cast metal, salvaged paper & plexiglass. His future plans are to attend school in the fall of 2009 to pursue a masters degree in architecture.
