ISU Marketing Association to present ‘Pokapalooza Warped’ battle of the bands on Nov. 21
November 13, 2009
The Idaho State University Marketing Association is working full force to put the final touches on Pokapalooza Warped, a battle of the bands featuring local music groups. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, in the Pond Student Union Ballroom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m.
Alternative rock, metal, and punk bands set to perform include Madison Lights, Associates, Above And Below, Paint It Plaid, Edessa, Sidelined, and 90’s For The High. Don’t miss this opportunity to check out some of the great talent in our local music scene. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10.
In addition to the bands, sponsors will be there including Salty's Ink Tattoo, The Buzz Shop, and more. The first 50 people through the door will receive a free Pokapalooza T-shirt. On-air personalities from K-Bear 101 will also be in attendance to judge the performances as prizes will be awarded to the winner.
This annual event provides participating students experience in marketing and event planning, and is the main fundraiser for the ISU Marketing Association. Since school started in late August, club members have been busy contacting bands, obtaining sponsorships, designing posters and T-shirts, and attending to the many details necessary for putting on a successful show.
The ISU Marketing Association would especially like to thank Syringa Wireless for their sponsorship of Pokapalooza and would also like to express deep appreciation to K-Bear 101, and all the local businesses that have supported this event.
For further details about the show, tune into K-Bear 101 or contact Daniel Hill at hilldan2@isu.edu or Dr. Sandra Speck at specsand@isu.edu.
