American Indian Cultural Day set Aug. 27 at ISU College of Education

The Idaho State University College of Education will host an American Indian Cultural Day from 11 a.m. to noon on Aug. 27 in the College of Education Auditorium, Room 243.

“This is a time for us to renew our commitment to education and to welcome new members to our teaching and learning community,” said Deborah Hedeen, dean of the ISU College of Education.

Verlon Gould, Shoshone-Bannock Tribal member, will open with a prayer at 11 a.m., followed by a welcome message by Hedeen and Shoshone-Bannock Tribal leaders.

At 11:20 a.m. there will be a performance by American Indian dancers for Fort Hall featuring narration by Drusilla Gould and drumming by The Nation, from Fort Hall. There will be a closing ceremony at 11:55 a.m.
