May 1, 2008
Idaho State University has named Stuart Summers as Student Employee of the Year. Summers, who is currently a sophomore in the James E. Rogers department of mass communication, is employed with the Student Activities Board as student director of student activities.
“The award came as quite a surprise,” said Summers, who is from Idaho Falls. “I really never expected to receive such an award and I feel very honored and thankful to the University for giving me the opportunity to work with the student activities board. Being a student employee, I’ve gained so much hands-on experience.” Summers received the first place award, which is a $2,000 scholarship.
Three additional students received Student Employee of the Year awards for outstanding service. Rikki Kay Proctor, a junior, took second place and was awarded the $600 Lupher Scholarship. The third-place award, a $50 gift certificate to the ISU Bookstore, went to Joshua Moor. The fourth-place winner, Tereza Prihodova, is in her junior year and works in the Institute of Rural Health as an undergraduate research assistant. She took home a general ISU parking pass.
