Singer, pianist Brickman to present Feb. 13 concert at ISU

Pianist, singer and songwriter Jim Brickman – whose songs include the chart-topping “Valentine,” “The Gift,” “Love of My Life” and “Simple Things” – will perform a concert at Idaho State University on Feb. 13.

Brickman’s concert is part of the ISU 2007-08 “A Season of Note” series and will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Joseph C. and Cheryl H. Jensen Grand Concert Hall of the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.  

His music includes pop-style piano solos and romantic popular songs. His remarkable career includes six Gold and Platinum selling albums, three No. 1 and 12 Top 10 adult contemporary radio hits, consistent debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Magazine’s New Age chart, a Grammy nomination in 2003, Society of European Stage Authors & Composers “Songwriter of the Year” award, a Canadian Country Music Award for “Best Vocal/ Instrumental Collaboration” and a Dove Award presented by the Gospel Music Association for “The Gift.”

In November 2005, he held the top three spots on Billboard’s New Age chart for his albums The Disney Songbook, Grace and Greatest Hits. He has sold more than five million compact discs worldwide.

Brickman has established a reputation for his collaborations with many gifted musical artists that include: Martina McBride, Michael W. Smith, Kenny Loggins, Carly Simon, Herb Alpert, Collin Raye, Pam Tillis, Michael Bolton, Donny Osmond and Olivia Newton-John.

Tickets are $36 main level, $32 upper level, and can be purchased at the Stephens Performing Arts Center Box Office, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
