February 21, 2008
Idaho State University’s ADA and Disability Resource Center has organized a week of events to build awareness and create a better understanding of people with disabilities on campus and in the community. The events begin Monday, Feb. 25, and run through Friday, Feb. 29. The events are designed to help build awareness of the contributions people with disabilities bring to the university, the workplace and the community.
“Events and discussions will focus on how equal access to buildings, education and jobs can benefit everyone,” said Dennis Toney, director of the ISU ADA and Disabilities Resource Center.
Toney said he hopes to turn Disability Awareness Week into an annual event that will continuously improve communication and understanding between people of all abilities.
