May 16, 2008
The Idaho State University Chinese Student Association is collecting funds for victims of the May 12 earthquake in the Sichuan Province in China.
The students will be in the ISU Pond Student Union Building main lobby from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, May 19-21, to collect funds.
Donations can also be sent to the ISU Foundation – China Earthquake Relief Fund, via mail at 921 S. Eighth Ave., Stop 8050, Pocatello, ID 83209; online through the ISU Foundation Pledge Form; or by visiting the Foundation Office in Room 121 of the ISU Administration Building
All donations must clearly state “ISU Foundation – China Earthquake Relief Fund.”
Funds collected at the ISU Foundation Office will be routed to the Chinese embassy in Washington, D.C. The money then will be forwarded to the Red Cross Society of China.
“We are having donated funds in the Pocatello area go through the ISU Foundation Office, so people have confidence that their donations are going as directly as possible to the Chinese people,” said Xiaowen Mei, treasurer for the ISU Chinese Student Association. “We are very concerned about this tragic disaster that has occurred in our home country and invite people to help out its victims.”
