Museum’s final RiverWalk to focus Oct. 18 on Bonneville Flood

Geologist and Idaho State University professor Paul Link, Ph.D., will lead an entertaining and informative RiverWalk Oct. 18. It will be the last of the season in Pocatello. Link will help participants explore the landforms left behind by the great Bonneville Flood when it washed through the Portneuf Valley 14,500 years ago.

To participate, meet at the AMI Trailhead by 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18. The AMI trailhead is accessed from Avenue of the Chiefs off of South 5th Avenue in Pocatello.

There is no charge but donations are welcome, and the trail is accessible to all.

Sponsored by the Idaho Museum of Natural History and the Portneuf Greenway Foundation, RiverWalks are monthly, family-oriented field excursions, each focusing on a different natural history topic.

This extremely popular series gives people of all ages the opportunity to get out and learn about the natural world around them while enjoying the Greenway trails.
