Alvaro Fernandez, co-founder and CEO of SharpBrains, Inc., will lead a workshop as part of the Idaho Conference on Health Care, on “Cognitive and Emotional Training (Brain Fitness) for Healthy Aging” on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon inside the Pond Student Union Building at Idaho State University.
Fernandez holds an MBA and an MA in education from Stanford University. Currently, he teaches The Science of Brain Health and Brain Fitness at San Francisco State University and UC-Berkeley Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. He is also an advisor to the management teams of Ashoka and Arcandina.
Fernandez and Dr. Elkhonon Goldberg co-founded the market-research firm, SharpBrains, Inc., which provides individuals, companies and institutions with high-quality, research-based, information and guidance to navigate the growing cognitive and brain fitness market.
“The brain fitness market passed a tipping point in 2007 thanks to the convergence of a very proactive boomer generation hitting their 60s,” said Fernandez in a recent interview with CNN.
