ISU-Boise to host ‘Health Science Experience Night’ Oct. 9

Interested in becoming a pharmacist, paramedic or physician assistant? A clinical lab scientist, nurse or mental health counselor?

Find out about these programs and many more at the third annual “Health Science Experience Night” hosted by Idaho State University, Oct. 9, 5:30-8 p.m. The event will be at ISU’s current location, 12438 W. Bridger St., Boise, southwest of the intersection of Cloverdale Road and Chinden Boulevard.

Students will have the opportunity to explore more than two dozen careers in the health professions and sciences, visit with professors and clinical faculty, and enter to win a $500 scholarship. Two will be awarded that night.

The event will include demonstrations in human-patient simulation with life-like mannequins from ISU-Boise’s state-of-the-art simulation laboratory. Through simulation, students are able to practice medical procedures in a controlled environment before performing them in the real world.

“ISU is the state’s leader in health-science education, and we’re delighted to host this event for high school and transfer students, parents, educators, and other interested community partners in the Treasure Valley,” said Bessie Katsilometes, dean of academic programs in Boise.
