Division of Continuing Education offers fall cooking classes

The first of nine Idaho State University fall semester culinary classes open to the public starts up Sept. 23 on the ISU campus.

Culinary classes being offered this semester include:

• “Essential Culinary Skills,” Tuesday, Sept. 23, 6-8 p.m., cost $20;

• “Garde Manger (French term),” Tuesday, Sept. 30, 6-8 p.m., cost $20; participants will learn recipes, techniques for hors d’oeuvres and salads, and plating techniques;

• “Quick and Easy One Dish Meals,” Tuesday, Oct. 7, 5:30-7:30 p.m., cost $20;

• “Super Soups,” Tuesday, Oct. 14, 5:30–7:30 p.m., cost: $20;    

• “It's a Date,” Friday, Oct. 24, 5:30–7:30 p.m., cost: $35 per couple; participants will prepare complete dinner and then enjoy it;

• “Italian Classics,” Tuesday, Oct. 28, 6-8 p.m., cost: $20;

•  “Turkey and All the Trimmings,” Tuesday, Nov. 4, 5:30-7:30 p.m., cost $20;

• “Holiday Little Bites,” Tuesday, Nov. 18, 5:30-7:30 p.m., cost: $20;    

• “Seafood Lovers' Dream,” Tuesday, Dec. 2, 6-8 p.m., cost $20.

The culinary classes will be held in the College of Education Albion Hall Food Lab, Room 102.

ISU Continuing Education offers hundreds of classes ranging from Spanish conversation and ballroom dance classes, to digital photography classes.
