College of Technology students win medals in Boise competition

The Idaho State University College of Technology Delta Epsilon Chi (DEC) club recently attended the Idaho State Career Conference in Boise. Six students from the Marketing and Management Occupations program attended the conference and participated in various competitions, bringing home 11 medals.
The following students earned medals in their competitive events and will be traveling to Orlando, Fla., from April 19 to 25 to compete in the Delta Epsilon Chi International Career Development Conference.
ISU DEC award-winners in business simulations were Ashlee Warth, first place, apparel and accessories; Cassie Jones, first place, financial services; Irene Nash, first place, restaurant and food service; Sandra Curzon, first place, retail management; and Lauren Tate, first place, travel and tourism.
ISU DEC award winners in case studies were Irene Nash, first place, human resource management decision; Ashlee Warth, second place, marketing management; Sandra Curzon, first place, sales manager meeting; Heather Johnson and Lauren Tate (team), second place, sports and entertainment marketing.
The ISU DEC award winner in prepared business presentations was Heather Johnson, second place, sales representative.
DEC is an organization for students enrolled in marketing and management career related course work. The purpose of the organization is to develop competent professionals in their chosen career fields.
