Anderson Center to host Conference on Gender April 5 & 6

The Idaho State University Janet C. Anderson Gender Resource Center will host a multidisciplinary conference “The Art of Gender in Everyday Life IV,” on April 5 from 3 to 5 p.m. and April 6 from 8 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. in the ISU Pond Student Union Building. All conference papers will in some way explore the various ways in which gender is lived on a daily basis.

The conference will showcase the work of scholars from across the nation who will gather in Pocatello to present their gender-related work. Sessions will cover a wide range of topics including the arts, literature, gender in academe, the performance of gender and more.  

Conference sessions are free and open to the public, but registration is required. Registration will be available on-site.

“We are excited to be hosting a great range of excellent papers again this year!” said Dr. Rebecca Morrow. “There is definitely something for everyone with discussions of such wide-ranging topics as women in country music, the X-Men, the creation of samplers and the narratives of women philosophers. This conference is always such a fun time because it is an opportunity to rethink gender, something that affects us all, in new ways and new contexts.”
