Student group sponsors toiletries drive to aid community
November 1, 2007
The Idaho State University Students’ Community Service Center will hold its annual toiletries drive beginning Nov. 5 and running through Dec. 17.
Toiletries are essential non-food items that individuals and families may struggle to purchase at this time of year. These items include infant care supplies, toothpaste, dental floss, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, soap, shampoo, conditioner, razors, shaving cream and other related items. Small, travel-size products are also welcomed.
Donated items can be dropped off at the Students’ Community Service Center in the Student Leadership and Involvement Center located on the first floor of the ISU Pond Student Union Building. Alternatively, donators can arrange to have items picked up by calling the number listed below.
Items for donation must be new and unopened. Filled bags are distributed to the Idaho Food Bank, Aid for Friends Homeless Shelter and Resource Center, Family Services Alliance Women’s Crisis Center and SEICAA.
Response to last year’s toiletries drive from faculty, staff, students and the public made a big difference to those in need. The service center assembled 500 bags for individuals and 50 bags for families.
For further information on the toiletries drive, contact the Students’ Community Service Center at 282-3494.
