ISU professor emeritus of physics releases new health, fitness book
November 13, 2007
Dr. Barry Parker, Idaho State University professor emeritus of physics, has published his 22th book, “Feel Great Feel Alive: Seven Steps to Superhealth and Fitness.”
“Most people have a good idea what they should be doing to maximize their health, but very few actually take them to heart and do them,” Parker said. “This book gives you a program for maximizing your health and making you feel great, and, hopefully, it will also motivate you to do it.”
The fitness book is a diversion for Parker, who generally writes popular science books, although he has written a children’s book. He has written four books on Albert Einstein, including the recent “Albert Einstein's Vision: Remarkable Discoveries That Shaped Modern Science” that was published last year.
Other recent books he has written include the “Isaac Newton School of Driving,” published in 2003, and “James Bond and James Bond Movies,” published in 2005.
Parker, a native of British Columbia, Canada, taught physics at ISU from 1967 to 1997. His research area was general relativity, black holes and cosmology, but he also had an intense interest in biophysics. He taught a biophysics class for several years and did some research on the physics of the DNA molecule.
Parker’s newest book, published by Stardust Press, can be purchased at the ISU book store and is available from his Web site BarryParkerBooks.com, as well as online bookstores such as Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com The book can be ordered from Stardust Press, P.O. Box 2476, Pocatello, Idaho, 83206. Its price is $12 plus tax and shipping.
