C-SPAN2’s Book TV Bus coming to Pocatello 2-4 p.m. Aug. 30

C-SPAN2's Book TV Bus, a 45-foot long mobile television production studio, will travel to Pocatello on Aug. 30 on its nationwide tour promoting Book TV's unique nonfiction book programming.

It will be parked from 2 to 4 p.m. at the ISU Eli M. Oboler Library, 850 S. Ninth Street, Pocatello.

“We’re thrilled the Book TV Bus is coming to Pocatello,” said Kay Flowers, ISU Dean of Library Services. “It is an opportunity for local authors to receive exposure, and the public is invited to participate in this event.”

The Book TV Bus, hosted by Cable One in Pocatello, is traveling the country stopping at libraries, bookstores and book festivals along the way.

A visit to the bus includes a tour of the state-of-the-art studio set, an interactive demonstration about Book TV programming and the opportunity to learn how a television show is produced. As they travel the country, the bus crew also compiles interviews with authors and readers to enhance Book TV's local coverage. Bus visitors will also have the opportunity to tape a video question for possible use on an upcoming Book TV program “In Depth.”

The Book TV Bus has traveled through 39 states and more than 200 cities, hosting more than 75,000 visitors and has produced more 400 book-related events. While traveling the country on the Bus, the crew has contributed to Book TV’s programming by interviewing more than 200 authors.

Book TV is aired for 48 hours every weekend starting at 8 a.m. EST on Saturdays. The program airs non-fiction book programming on a variety of topics including history, biographies, politics, current events and the media. Book TV features author interviews, readings and panels at bookstores, libraries and book festivals.
