Pharmacy students donate to food bank
November 29, 2006
Idaho State University College of Pharmacy students recently donated more than 5,000 pounds of food and approximately $1,000 to the Pocatello Idaho Food Bank as part of the student-sponsored annual Thanksgiving food drive.
Through the College’s Student Senate, pre-pharmacy and pharmacy students competed among their classmates to raise money and collect non-perishable food donations for the Idaho Food Bank, according to Dr. Cynthia Culbertson, pharmacy director of student affairs.
“This food drive came at an opportune time as many other of the traditional food drives have been less than successful this year. Each of you that contributed is making a difference in the lives of many,” said Roy Lacey, director of the food bank.
In addition to the canned food drive, students in the College of Pharmacy will continue their annual holiday tradition of helping to provide presents and a Christmas dinner for at least two families in need from the Pocatello community.
