Idaho State University will host the "Out of the Canyons IV" art exhibit at the newly re-constructed John B. Davis Gallery in the ISU Fine Arts Building from Oct. 16 to Nov. 3. The opening reception will be held with the artists from 7 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 13.

The show will derive works from the ISU Department of Art "Arches-Canyonlands Workshop," which took place last spring in the canyons of southeastern Utah and Arches National Park. The exhibit will include works from ISU art students Scott Chastain, Danielle Dutson, Michael Fryer, Helen Livingston, Jennie McCall, Nikki Mull, Tal Sampson and Stephanie Slavin. Work by art department faculty member and workshop instructor Bob Granger, and ISU painting instructor Marjorie Mickelson will be exhibited.

Additionally, works will be featured by David Nelson, Minneapolis, Minn., photographer and guest of the workshop, and Lynn A. Gray, a professor in the department of art at the University of Minnesota and visiting artist for the workshop, will be featured. They will also attend the reception.

The Davis Gallery was remodeled during the summer. Design for the new gallery was done by Cheryl Hanson, a faculty member of the department of art and pre-architecture. "Out of the Canyons IV" will be its inaugural exhibition.
