Latin Grammy Award winner Pedro Giraudo will bring his original compositions to this historic recording session.
Tomorrow, February 16, the Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet will join The Idaho State-Civic Symphony (ISCS) for a remarkable performance. Following this performance, the symphony and quartet, in partnership with Professor Jon Armstrong and ISU's Commercial Music program, will record an album slated for release next fall on ISU’s record label, City Creek Records.
Latin Grammy Award winner Pedro Giraudo will bring his original compositions to this historic recording session, marking the symphony's first venture into commercial album production. The Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet, under the leadership of Argentine bassist and composer Pedro Giraudo, is renowned for their innovative approach to traditional tango music. The group blends traditional tango elements with modern influences to create a dynamic and captivating sound. Giraudo's status as a highly esteemed musician is underscored by his Latin Grammy Award win, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the genre.
ISCS Director, Dr. Nell Flanders, says, "This project is truly thrilling! Pedro's compositions are poised to resonate far beyond Idaho, thanks to our collaboration with ISU's Commercial Music department and Jon Armstrong."
