Discover Opportunity: ISU Day at the Capitol set for Feb. 28

BOISE-Learn about education opportunities at Idaho State University at ISU Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
Information booths and interactive displays showcasing academic programs and the Bengal experience will be set up from 8 a.m. to noon on the first and fourth floors of the Idaho State Capitol, 700 W. Jefferson St. ISU has more than 250 programs of study ranging from certificates to doctorates.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to bring students, alumni and faculty to the statehouse to express the important role ISU plays in the state’s system of higher education,” said Ryan Sargent, associate director of alumni relations.
Colleges and divisions represented include the Kasiska Division of Health Sciences, Family Medicine Residency, the Graduate School and the colleges of Pharmacy, Science and Engineering, Arts and Letters, Education, Technology and Business.
Health science programs represented include nursing, dental hygiene, physician assistant studies, communications sciences and disorders, speech-language pathology, audiology and ISU-Meridian health sciences. Student pharmacists, under the supervision of faculty, will provide free blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose screenings.
“We look forward to this opportunity each year,” said Rex Force, ISU vice president for health sciences. “ISU Day at the Capitol provides a unique way for the decision makers for education in Idaho to connect directly with ISU students and faculty to gain inside knowledge about their activities and objectives.”
